Doi Inthanon National Park was established as No. 6 in Thailand. Originally Doi Inthanon called “Doi Luang” or “Doi Ang Ka”. Doi Luang means a large mountain and Doi Ang Ka is a puddle on top of Doi in the past there are crow has played down a lot so, called Doi Ang Ka.
Doi Inthanon National Park is a mountainous terrain and high mountains as part of the boundary Thongchai Road Mountain stretch along the north – south and Continuing a long hill from the Himalayas in Nepal. The height of the area ranging from 400-2,565 meters above sea level. By Doi Inthanon is the highest, and is No. 1 in Thailand so, It is called the "roof of Siam"
With the terrain is different altitudes of the region to offer a variety of vegetation consists of forests such as Pha Tengrung, Pha Dip Khow Ton Bon and Pha Dip Khow Ton Lang. All of these forests are origin several rivers so, there are several waterfalls. Visitors can admire the beauty of these waters and there are many activities make the Doi Inthanon can see throughout the year.
Many of the beautiful waterfall on Doi Inthanon, tourism can be a multi-atmosphere such as waterfall that convenient car access and waterfalls that to visit on foot. The waterfall that you can not miss when it comes to the Doi Inthanon are Namtok Maepan, Namtok Maeklang, Namtok Maeya, Namtok Wachiratarn, Namtok Siritarn and Namtok Siribhum. In addition to its beautiful waterfalls there are also Bri Jinda caves with beautiful stalagmite stalactite to visit by walk the path distance of approximately 1 km. which constitute a short hiking distance.
One thing that is interesting and can see all ages on the Doi Intranon is a sightseeing wich, on a high mountain there is a beautiful sightseeing spot in several such as Pha Ngam Noi that if you come during the months of February-March you will see a rhododendron flower in full blossom. There is also a sightseeing point at km. 41 and the two Phra Maha That area that is located on a cliff.
In addition to viewing the beautiful scenery throughout the years, winter is also a sea of mist to see all day. And for birdwatchers, Doi Inthanon is the location of the top bird watching in Thailand. In addition to the current resident birds found quite difficult, there are migratory birds from other continents in the winter to watch. Bird watching on Doi Inthanon, can be found almost everywhere along the mountain from 37 km to 34.5 km and at the top of mountain area, Ang Ka, and so on.
For those who like nature, Doi Inthanon has trails that give you experience a variety of natural park by several directions closely which have both short and long distances includes many activities such as the mountain bike, visit Ban Mae Khun Klang project, visit hill tribes lifestyle, rafting on the Mae Jam river, climbing and driving. You can get tourist information from the Visitor Center at km. 31.
