Provincial Flower (North Thailand) Part02


1.Flowers of Tak, Nan province.
Name: Dok Siew Dok Kwao
Common names: Orchid Tree, Purple Bauhinia.
Scientific Name: Bauhinia variegata L.
Also known as: Siew Pha Dok Kwao
General Characteristics: This type of tree height 5-10 m, a bouquet of flowers at the end of branches, leaves and cranny 6-10 flowers with 5 petals bloom throughout the year.
Propagation: seeds.
Reasonable condition: all kinds of soil, sun.
Origin: India  and Malaysia.
2.Flower of Phichit, Sukhothai Province.
Name: Dok Bua Luang
Common names: Nelumbo nucifera.
Scientific name: Nymphaea lotus Linn.
General characteristics: This species has stems beneath the water, and there are more flowers on the water surface, leaves a vast spherical.
Propagation: seeds.
Reasonable condition: soil and need more water because the plant growth in water until sunlight.
Origin: Brazil and Argentina.
3.Flowers of Phrae Province.
Name: Dok Yom Hin
Common names: Almond-wood, Chickrassy Chittagong-wood.
Scientific name: Chukrasia velutina Roem.
Also known as: Kow Yong (Karen - Chiang Mai), Sha kadao (Southern Thailand), Yom Kwao (Northern Thailand), Yom Hin Mafuang Ton (center), Rink Bang Ri (Karen - Mae Hong Son), Siad Kay (Surat Thani )
General characteristics: A medium to large trees. Defoliation, but soon sprout new leaves. Cho into the late King. Flowering from November to February.
Propagation: seeds.
Reasonable condition: Grow well in soils of all kinds. Need to water and moisture, moderate
Origin: dry forests and tropical forests generally.
